My name is Bekki & I recently turned 30. My mom tried to teach me several times in my younger days how to crochet. I have fond memories of her sitting on the couch constantly making items. I didn’t have much patience for crocheting as a child, but when I was nearing my 30’s I set several goals for myself and one of those goals was to learn how to crochet.
Instead of turning to my mom (after all those failed attempts to teach me when I was younger, I didn’t know how receptive she’d be at teaching me again), I took out several books from the library and on a rainy weekend at the cottage I buckled down with my new crochet hooks and some new yarn to try to learn.
WOW, it is hard to learn how to crochet out of a book. Turns out, Todd picked up how to chain faster than I did (though he’s probably never admit it!).
I was a bit defeated, and over labour day weekend in 2012, I turned to my mom (again) and she showed me how to crochet properly. Since then I haven’t been able to put a hook down. It is really awesome how each pattern I take on, I can master!
Thanks for taking a peak in my corner of the universe. Please do not hesitate to contact me ( hookedonhomemade@live.ca )
